Sea 2

Some more photographs from the second batch. Almost time to go 'home' now. It's 10 to 6 and there's very little light left outside. Whoohoo. Goodnight.

Sea

I went down to the coast a little while back, perhaps a month ago, and spent a very short weekend trying to relax. It was only on the Sunday that I started to enjoy everything and settle down, but had to start packing up and head back to Johannesburg. That sucked, and I've since vowed to never do the drive there and back for 2 days worth of getting away, albeit to the sea. You need about 7-8 days to start recovering from city life (how lovely that is with the crime, poverty, accidents accompanied by flashing red and blue lights and general fast-arriving misery on a daily basis thank you very bloody much). Oh yes. Give it to me baby, with a double-dose of Lorien.

The Lion Park

On the 19th June I went to the Lion Park on the road to Lanseria (extension of Hans Strydom Drive that passes through Kya Sands), to attend a 1-day camera course. The intention was to go on a game drive through the park after having completed the theory portion of the course, but the practical turned out to be more complicated, seeing as all course delegates had to share a cramped truck with a group of other people. Hmm. You guessed it, no room to move or compose any photographs. I sat down and watched and waited for the drive to end, and decided to go again at some later stage, in my own vehicle. These are a few pictures taken that day. I recommend going if you're in the area. In addition to what you'll see, children are allowed to hold and touch the lion cubs under supervision :]

Northern Farms

In the beginning of June this year, a couple of friends and I went out to Northern Farms, an amalgamation of various farms into one property as I understand it, to ride mountain bikes while I would take a couple of photographs.
It's a vast property with many dams and dirt roads, perfect for mountain biking between the trees, across streams and over hills. The air is clean and for a while you can forget about the city, more so while having a beer or two at a nearby stable on the way back home.

Mid-Year Crisis

Back again after having not made time to add to my Blog. I feel quite bad about it. Anyway, the last couple of months have been quite hectic, filled with lessons I needed to learn. Sometimes I ignore things that are staring me right in the face, and it's times like that when your gut tells you to do something about it, and you DON'T listen, that you kiss your ass goodbye for a while. My little lesson was not returning my insurance forms via fax to the insurance company and having my new truck stolen and crashed, and then realising with a sickening feeling akin to dying, that you have to pay for this exercise out of your own pocket, with money you don't have. How's that for procrastination and stupidity, lesson No.1?

Not good. If there's anything like that you need to do, and it doesn't have to be an insurance form, get out and DO IT. Before something bad happens.
